Lamar Consolidated ISD – Thomas Culver Elementary School
Drymalla was just completing the new Lamar CISD prototype Elementary School #26 when we commenced work on #27, Thomas Culver Elementary. Like most projects in Lamar CISD, expansive soils required a foundation system of grade beams on void forms, structural hollow core planks and a topping slab. The project exterior is primarily face brick veneer with both modified bitumen roofing and metal standing seam roof with cantilevered aluminum canopies featured at the front of the building. The resource center presents exposed structural scissor trusses and the multipurpose area is set off by a significant area of colorful plastic laminate wall paneling.
